We were raised in a society where we were taught to share. We were taught that there was a finite amount of cookies, or chocolate, and everyone should get their fair share.

Yes sharing is caring, and it is important to share the goodness. But what if this notion had us believing that resources were scarce, and finite?

This belief trickled down into other parts of our lives, and has us subconsciously thinking that  not only is there a limited amount of chocolate, but there is also a limited amount of money, success, happiness, and even babies to go around!

But when you really think about it, is there a finite amount of success? Happiness? Love?

When you were single, and your friend found the love of her life, how did you feel? Did your brain jump to think that there are no guys left for you?

What about when you tried to conceive?

I could tell you that for me, this was a hard one. It took me a while to get pregnant, and in the year that we tried, countless friends and even my sister had gotten pregnant. I remember my mind jumping to think that now the chances of it happening for me are less, as if there was a finite amount of sperm in the world, and now there was less for me to fend for.

Seems absurd, but it is actually exactly how the brain works. It is also in line with the way we were raised to think. Even in college only a limited amount of people could get an A, B, C and so on.

But what if this was all BS ? What if there was an infinite amount of success, happiness, love, money and even sperm in the world? What if we saw the world through the lens of abundance instead of the scarcity we are so engrained to see.

Thinking from a place of abundance, meaning a place where resources and goodness is plentiful and not lacking, is so powerful. For me, when I shifted my perspective about pregnancy and getting pregnant, I released myself of so much added stress. I started truly believing that there was plenty of goodness out there, and soon enough the goodness came.

In my specific example, when I told myself over and over “there are plenty of babies for everyone!” I felt an immediate release in my body.

I started seeing the world through the lens of abundance, and started attracting abundance into my life. I started spotting the goodness, as if my eyes had a special ‘abundance’ radar. I saw it everywhere.

So the next time you catch yourself thinking that something (success, love, money, babies, etc..) is scarce, stop yourself. Ask yourself: is there really a finite amount of this in the world? If someone else has it, does it mean that I will not or that there is somehow less for me?

I promise you, the answer is NO to all of the above.

See the world through abundance, and you will attract abundance!
